Sexy After 30 "The Runway Explosion": July 30, 2011





It's true- there is sexy after 30. And the Sexy After 30 Nashville Chapter is here to prove it. According to their Facebook page, SA30 is  "a movement and national organization that motivates, uplifts and empowers men and women over 30 that have experienced, or are currently facing, adversity."


SA30 will be hosting "The Runway Explosion," a fashion show featuring an evening of music,  networking, fashion, and "exchange as socialize for a cure." Vendors include Buckle, Ashley Stewart, Elite, and more. The show will be held Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Rocketown. Doors open at 7:00 and the show begins at 7:30. Purchase tickets in advance here for $20 or pay $25 at the door.

Get Your Boots On: Fashion Show to Support U.S. Military Veterans: August 20, 2011





I'm all about fashion for a cause. And the upcoming Get Your Boots On fashion show is no exception. Here are the details on Her.com:


Hey ladies, enjoy a night out for a good cause; fashion is just an added bonus! Support our U.S. Military veterans at this festive soiree on Saturday, August 20 at 7pm at the Nashville Film Institute.   You might even see some famous faces like Dolly Parton, Chris Harrison, Governor Rick Perry, Troy Aikman, and many others who will join in honoring our vets!

DAN Talent Group, partnered with The Nashville Film Institute and The Boot Campaign, will host a televised “Get Your Boots On” party. In addition to supporting our U.S. Military veterans, this campaign supports existing charities working with veterans who have been severely injured and/or suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorders. 100 percent of proceeds from bootscampaign.com (pre-purchase available) and other BC merchandise will be donated to following charities: The Lone Survivor Foundation, Wounded Wear, Not Alone, and Military Warriors Support Foundation.

Here is where the fashion comes in! DAN Talent Group will showcase the combat boots through a “Get Your Boots On” runway show of fashion models. The party will also be filmed for an upcoming episode of Canadian TV’s Reality Show “Party Mama’s” featured the WE channel in the U.S.

It Factor 2: Hair & Fashion Show: July 23, 2011

HAIR AND FASHION SHOW HELPING MINORITY BOYS: ONE MENTOR AT A TIME
July 23, 2011. Universal Event Planning has partnered with Lace Lae Hair Salon and Love Noise for It Factor 2 Hair and Fashion Show. This event will be held a Mai 125 12th Avenue North in Nashville TN; from 2pm-7pm. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to All Kings Men, a Christian non -profit agency dedicated to providing minority boys ages 10-18 years old living in Nashville and Davidson County with mentors.
This event is a spinoff from last year’s Jenaisequo Hair and Fashion Show. It will be more fun, more entertaining, and one of the biggest events for the summer in Nashville. Some of the latest fashion apparel will be featured by Studio 615, Elite Clothing, Atlanta’s Decrea Clothing Company, and many more! Live D J’s along with appearances from Barefeet Studios & Found Movement Group will serve as entertainment for this day event. With renowned guest models, including the Radar Men from Radar Magazine and Tennessee Titans players, this event will be one where guest can be socially and aesthetically pleased and have the opportunity to network with some of Nashville’s finest people.

Music Is Key Fashion Show: July 23, 2011


I wasn't aware of the first one, but the second annual Music is Key Fashion Show will be held Saturday, July 23, 2011 to benefit Mercy Ministries, a group empowering young women who are abuse victims. A variety of womenswear and menswear will be showcased at the Street Theatre Company (1933 Elm Hill Pike) from 6:00 to 10:00 PM. Additionally, a silent auction will be held at 6:00 PM and the show starts at 7:00 PM. RAW Event: July 21, 2011

RAW: natural born artists presents ILLUMINARE, Thursday July 21st 
National arts organization remixes Mercy Lounge with a collaboration of fashion, art, dance, film and music; adding a sprinkle of Los Angeles flair to the Nashville night scene.

NASHVILLE, TN- RAW: natural born artists, a Southern California based indie arts organization launched nationally in January 2011. After producing monthly showcases in over 16 cities RAW creates a national platform for local artist and event goers.
On Thursday, July 21st RAW will return with its 6th show at the famous Mercy Lounge entitled ILLUMINARE. The show will feature over 18 talented artists covering several artistic genres. This show will spotlight: stage design by Erica Edmonson of 615 Design; music video by Chancellor Warhol (BMI) “I’m On” featuring Drupy; musical performances by Southern Quill (BMI) and Miami duo, Radar vs. Wolf; fashion show featuring clothing designer Emily Swinson of Madness Is (Posh Boutique) and accessories by Discrete Jewelry and Nikkay Fashions. Local visual artists include Hilary Romaine, Mickey Masters, Southern Milk, Modern Movement, Blue Owl Design and LIVE art show by Heather Bellgardt and Lisa Gardiner of PBJ Creations; dance performance by Keith Fitzpatrick, local choreographer and studio owner.

Hillsboro Art Crawl: July 14, 2011


In celebration of Bastille Day, the Hillsboro Art Crawl has moved to tomorrow, Thursday, July 14, 2011. The event takes place from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and features artists, musicians, mimes, live paintings, French poetry readings, and a variety of French baked goods. Also, participating stores like Pangaea and Fire Finch will be hosting the festivities. And it may be hot tomorrow, but cool down with some crisp Skyy Vodka and French wine. See you there!

Reminder: Glitter and Glam to Benefit Agape Animal Rescue: July 17, 2011

I had previously posted this back in April, so I wanted to remind you all about this weekends event. Here is the original post:


Glitter and Glam is back for another year of interesting fashion and an even better cause. This year’s event takes place July 17, 2011 at Loews Vanderbilt Hotel (2100 West End Ave.) from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. This fashion show features doggie couture designs from Linda Higgins, complimentary wine and hors d’oeuvres, a red carpet, and a first class silent and live auction. Dress is cocktail attire and all proceeds from the event benefit Agape Animal Rescue. Tickets are $60 and can be purchased here.

That's when Loews Vanderbilt Hotel will roll out the red carpet for the third annual Glitter & Glam: A Wine Tasting and Fashion Show for the Animals.
Hosted by Agape, Glitter and Glam will be held from 5-8 pm. This year's show will feature glamorous doggie couture designs from designer Linda Higgins, doggie embellishments by Come, Sit, Stay and of course, the crowd-pleasing doggie models strutting their stuff down the runway.

Whiskey and Wine Wednesday @ Billy Reid: July 27, 2011





Get ready, Nashville- the second annual nD Festival will be here September 29 through October 2, 2011. More details on the Belcourt-benefit will be out soon, but patron passes, for access to special events throughout the summer and all event days, can be purchased for $150 for Belcourt Members and $175 for non-members here. 






And in anticipation of the nD Festival, Nashville-based designer Billy Reid will be hosting Whiskey and Wine Wednesday on July 27, 2011 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at his Green Hills store. Guests are asked to "come sip whiskey, shop, and socialize with us at Billy Reid...". The event is $10 and 15% of all purchases made will benefit the Belcourt Theatre. RSVP to Facebook here
